Groundhog Sale
What a lovely day to go antiquing at the Old Lucketts Store Annual Groundhog Sale in Lucketts, Virginia, not far from my home. Obviously it's no longer Ground Hog Day, but close enough. My husband, Peter, friend Vickie (tall redhead) and I (short blond) all had a wonderful time exploring the shops and treasures within The Old Lucketts Store (as did everyone else there) and we were delighted that the weather for once cooperated. Normally, it's 20 degrees and sleeting on us at this particular event, but it never seemed to dampen our spirits in the past. Today, the weather could not have been more perfect for a February afternoon--65 degrees, sunny and no wind--what more could we ask for!?
Aside from furniture, Peter and I love garden related items that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Peter has a real love for fountains and urns...but more on that later when we get into the spring and summer months and the fountains in our own yard will be flowing once more.
Peter and I didn't buy anything and Vickie acquired a few small items. But we had a grand time gathering ideas and planning for spring. If you get the chance to go to Lucketts, you should. It's open year round and, if you live in the area, chances are you'll probably run into someone you know there. At the very least you'll make new friends, find something, big or small, of interest and have a fine time in the Virginia countryside.
Cyndie- I love being able to tour your home and gardens via your blogspot. No matter what the season, they are always gorgeous! What fun I had at the sale with you and Peter, small purchases but, big ideas for future projects.
